When a potential difference of 2V is applied across the end of the wire of 5m length,a current of 1A is found to flow through it

Calculate (1) resistance per unit length (2) the resistance of 2m length of wire.

HOPE IT HELPS :

Let the resistance of full wire = R

Since it is given That

Potential ( V ) = 2 volts

Current ( i ) = 1 A

Length ( L ) = 5m

Using ohms law

V = iR

R = 2 ohm

Resistance per unit length = R / L

Resistance per unit length = 2 / 5

Resistance per unit length = 0.4 ohm / m

Resistance of 2m wire = ( 0.4 ohm/m ) x Resistance of 2m wire = 0.8 ohm
