when a potential difference of 2V is applied across the ends of a wire of 5m length, a current of 1A is found to flow through it . calculate ...
a) resistance per unit length of the wire
b) resistance of 2m length of this wire
c) resistance across the ends of the wire if it is doubled on itself.

(a). V=2v, I= 1A
R=V/I = 2/1 =2 ohm
resistance per unit length, R/l =2/5=0.4 ohm

(b). R=rho ×l/A
0.4=rho ×5/A
rho =0.4×A/5=4A/50 _______eq. (1)
now in the question l=2m then find R=?
R=4A/50 ×2/A
R=4/25 =0.16 ohm

(c). when the length is doubled means l=10 m.
then R=4A/50 ×10 /A
R=0.8ohm.
