hi
hope it helps
the heat in the form of energy is used to make the atoms vibrate so that it will get converted into liquid. This used energy is called latent heat of fusion. Therefore temperature remains constant.
When excess of heat is given it will change into liquid fastly but the temp will always remain constant

i hope you like this answer
the heat energy is absorbed by the solid in the form of latent heat of fusion.
the heat is stored inside the solid itself to increase the kinetic energy of the particles of the solid which will result in melting of solid
thanks
