NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide) solution should be added in excess in order to change the colour from red to yellow.

Explanation:

  • In acidic solution, methyl orange turns into a red colour. In basic solution, methyl orange turns into a yellow colour.
  • In the given options, H2SO4 (sulphuric acid), lemon juice and vinegar solution are acidic in nature. NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide) is the only solution that is basic in nature. When NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide) is added to the acidic solution, it turns into yellow.
