When a student cycles for 1 hour at xkm/h and 2hours at ykm/h he travels 32km. when he cycles for 2hours at xkm/h and 1hour at ykm/h he travels 34km. find x and y.

x+2y = 32 -------(1)

2x+y = 34 -------(2)

multiplying (1) by 2 and subtracting (2) we get,

2x+4y = 64

2x+y = 34

3y = 30

y = 10 km/h

putting in any , we get,

X = 12 km/h (Ans)
