Hering-Breuer reflex it is  it is the mainly a protective  mechanism for preventing excessive  inflation of lungs . tn the walls of bronchi and bronchioles stretch receptors are located  and are stimulated by overstreching  of the lungs , nerve impulse are send along the vagus nerve to  inhibit  the inspiratory area . this result in that expiration of air .
