Airplanes create lot of noise due to the huge engines fitted in it.

The vibrations produced by the noise waves makes the sonorous glass vibrate, giving it a shaking impression.

The windows start shaking due to resonance.

  • Airplanes make a lot of noise due to their massive engines. That loud noise indicates that the air beneath them is very vibrating.
  • Other items may also vibrate as a result of this vibration.
  • Sometimes, the sound frequency generated by a plane travelling over a house is similar to original frequency of house's windows.
  • In this case, resonance occurs, causing the windows to rattle.
