When an illuminated object is held in front of a thick plane glass mirror ,several images of seen out of it the second images brightest .give reason.

The reason is that the second image suffers strong first reflection at the reflecting surface,so it is brightest among all.

Several images are seen due to multiple reflection and second image is brightest bcz in first image there is reflection and refraction both occurs and nxt successive images will be fainter due to some absorption of light by the mirror during multiple reflection.
