When an object is placed at a distance of 25cm from a mirror, the magnification is M1 the object is moved 15cm for the away with respect to the earlier position, the magnification become M2. If M1/M2=4, then calculate the focal length of the mirror. ​

Proof of the formula used here ,

For a spherical mirror

1/v + 1/u = 1/f

Multiplying each term by u .

→u/v + 1 = u/f

→ u/v= u/f -1

→u/v = (u-f)/f

→v/u = f/(u-f)

→ -v/u = f/(f-u)

→m = f/(f-u)
