When an object of height 8 cm is placed at a distance of 25 cm from a concave mirror of focal length 15 cm find the image distance from the mirror

Height of image = 8 cm

Dist. of object from mirror (u) = 25

Focal length(f) = 15 cm.

We know that ,

 \frac{1}{v} - \frac{1}{u} = \frac{1}{f}

= 1/ v = 1/u + 1/f

= 1/v = 1/- 25 + 1/ -15

= 1/v = -3 - 5/ 75

=> v = 75 / -8

=> v = - 9.37 cm cm..............ANS.
