Hey mate..

Explanation:

The Surat Split of 1907 had two parts.

1. The Indian National Congress (INC), which was established in 1885 by A.O Hume, was divided into two groups(in the year 1907) mainly by extremists and moderates at the Surat Session of the Congress. The period of 1885-1905 was known as the period of the moderates as moderates dominated the Indian National Congress. These Moderates used petition, prayers, meetings, leaflets and pamphlets memorandum and delegations to present their demands in front of the British government. Moderates were not able to achieve notable goals other than the expansion of the legislative council by the Indian Council Act of 1892. This created dis-satisfaction among the people. In 1907 the INC meeting was to be held in Nagpur and the extremists wanted Lala Lajpat Rai and Bal Gangadhar Tilak as president. But moderates wanted Rash Bihari Ghosh to be president. Gopal Krishna Gokhale changed the meeting place from Nagpur to Surat fearing that if Nagpur was to be held as meeting place then Bal Gangadhar Tilak would become President. The partition of Bengal became the rise of extremism in INC.

Surat was in Bombay Presidency/Province, where Bal Gangadhar Tilak was from, and Nagpur was a different province. Nagpur Province was the province of British India that covered parts of the present-day states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh, with Nagpur city being the capital. So, as Surat was the home province of Bal Gangadhar Tilak he could not preside over the meeting. Hence it was decided that Ras Bihari Ghosh would be president. Extremists protested in the INC meeting as Bal Gangadhar Tilak was not given permission even to speak by pandit Madan Mohan Malviya extremists then reacted by throwing eggs, footwear etc and wanted the meeting to be cancelled. Moderates then held a secret meeting and decided to expel extremists from the Indian National Congress(INC).

The Moderates and the Extremists patched up their differences for a year, but in 1907 the two groups split. When they met at Surat for their annual session, they not only shouted at each other, but threw chairs and shoes as well. The police had to come and stop the meeting.

2. The second part of the split was amongst the Hindus and Muslims due to the militant nationalism that had existed long before, set in place due to the multifacetous culture and tradition established by the multifarious ruling dynasties. Extremists like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, to promote the sensations of unity and nationalism, popularised the Hindu culture that had existed previously. While he succeeded in creating a strong political identity for us as Indians.

He also used Shivaji & Abkar to simulate the religious beliefs so It can act as unifier. There is a wide perception that the Tilak was against Muslims, which is not correct but politically motivated. In fact he shared very good rapport with Jinnah before he joined Muslim League. He was the lawyer for Tilak. for both times when British charged with him sedition it was Jinnah only who fought the case for him.

The reason for spily in Hindu-Muslim was promoted by British highly after 1857 revolution, they were aware that if this two communities came together, it could be difficult them to run the Raj. The early support in the foundation of Muslim League, Separate electorates for Muslims in 1909 is one of the few examples.

The Muslims too, influenced by the British governments propagandas to centralise and secure their power in India, and by their own leaders- who in turn were loyal to the British (e.g.- Sir Syed Ahmed Khan- founder: Aligarh Muslim University), were eased into the ideals of aggressive/ militant nationalism.

The animosity between the two only festered until finally, the Muslims demanded a separate electorate to preserve their political interests. In the light of the split, The Moderates restated the goal of Congress to be attainment of self-government within the British Empire. Mark me as brainlist please.
