on 5th May 1789 King Louis called assembly of general estate. It was taken place in resplendent hall in Versailles which was prepared to host the delegates

On 5th May 1789, Louis XVI called the Assembly of general estate. It was the first meeting of the estates general called since 1614. He called the meeting because the French government was having financial problems.
