Answer:   the droughts are great threat when its is summer season . in the summer season  there is a heat wave over many states of India an it tends to dry up all the rivers and ponds etc.

the advantage of check dam are:

1) it saves up water when drought comes.

2) it also helps in agricultural fields as some crops require more water in                summer season to grow example: rice
