it is excreted by pancreas

Gmelin's test is a chemical test used for detecting the presence of bile pigments in urine.
The main bile pigments are bilirubin and biliverdin and these are due to the catabolism of hemoglobin. The main site of the formation of bile pigments is liver. Ultimately these leave the body in feces and a small amount in the urine.
