When CaCl2 is added to liquid water, the temperature rises. When CaCl2 is added to ice at 00C, the temperature will fall. Explain these observations

Explanation:

CaCl 2 + H2O =Ca(OH)2 +Cl2 ( gas)

When water is added to calcium oxide (quicklime), it will be converted to calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) and clhorine gas. it is highly exothermic reaction.

and I think that in the condition of ice which is a product ...no reaction will takes place.
