Carbon build-up occurs during the ignition of mixture of air and fuel, inside engine combustion chamber.

This can lead to performance issues of the vehicle such as roughness or sluggishness during engine running, excess vehicle emission, effect fuel efficiency etc. All these issues if left unchecked, can ultimately lead to engine damage.
