When chloroform exposed to air which poisonous gas will form?

Chloroform (CHCl₃) is oxidized in air and it decomposes to form a poisonous gas called as Phosgene gas (COCl₂). CHCl₃ + ¹/₂ O₂ → COCl₂ + HCl. This reaction takes place in the presence of sunlight.ir
