Answer: it forms carbon dioxide

Explanation: as the valency of carbon is +4 while that of oxygen is -2 so to make it a neutral charge (as nature always likes it) let's do some simple math to find out the no. of oxygen required -

carbon's valency = +4

oxygen's valency = -2

no.of oxygen required = x

so, 4 + x(-2)=0*

4+ -2x=0

4-2x=0

-2x=0-4

-2x= -4

2x=4

x=4/2

x=2

hence, two oxygens are required to make it stable which just happens to be CO2

* it's equal to 0 as it's a neutral charge
