He was an Indian politician, professor, author and aerospace scientist.
He was the 11th President of India (from 2002 to 2007).
He is known as the Missile Man of India.
He received Bharat Ratna in 1997, Padma Vibhushan in 1990 and Padma Bhushan in 1981.
He died on 27 July, 2015 in Shillong, Meghalaya, India.
