SABARMATI ASHRAM

1]Established by MAHATMA GANDHI on May 25,1915, in AHMADABAD.[GUJARAT]

2]After Gandhi Ji returned from South Africa, he established this Ashram.

3]It was later shifted to the bank of river Sabarmati on July 1917.

4]It was home for Mahatma Gandhi to 1930s.

5]The famous SALT MARCH SATYAGRAHA was stated from this place on 12 March 1930.

6]This ashram is thus seen as an NATIONAL MONUMENT that took part in freedom for INDIA.

7]Gandhi ji also taught about the path of AHINSA from this asram.He explained the meaning and taught them that independence could be obtained by path of truth.
