The British Goverment East India Company imposed higher taxation on salt. As salt is the basic need for food. So, our Father of nation Bapu or Mahatma Gandhi Started a non-violent protect against the britishers known to be “Salt Satyagrah” Or “Dandi March”.
Gandhi ji Along with his followers covered 240 miles from Sabarmati Asharam , Gujrat to Dandi. By taking some salt from the sea & boiled the salt, In this way, he broke the salt law imposed by British Goverment.

Gandhiji started civil disobedience moment by breaking the salt law.
He along with his followers marched to Dandi (a coastal area in Gujarat) and made salt there by evaporating sea water to make salt.
This was the start of civil disobedience moment.
