• Rituraj was born in 1940 and has ten collections of poetry to his credit. As he was born in Rajasthan, he did his Masters's in English and went on to spend almost thirty-five years as a teacher.
• Rituraj had been working quietly for about five decades composing poetry which stirs his enthusiastic aesthetics with resonances of the ancient and the elegant. They thought that the award should get on to someone who has the right to it on merit but somehow has not been so comprehended.
• He has also rewarded the Sahitya Akademi Award for his chore 'Lilatamsa' and the Jnanapitha Moortidevi Award in 1986. He died in 2008.
