South Africa got its independence on 26th April, 1994. 

ANC (African National Congress)was the umbrella organisation for freedom struggle. Since 1950, the people were struggling for independence and were organizing huge protests against the British Rulers and the Apartheid. 

After its independence Africa abolished apartheid and became a democracy. 

After almost 28 years Nelson Mandela walked out from the prison as a free man and became the 1 st president of South Africa. 

After 2 years of intensive discussion and debate the Africa came up with one of the most finest constitution in the world.
