Answer:

Zakariya Khan Bahadur (d.1745) was the Mughal Empire's viceroy of Lahore from 1726, succeeding his father, Abd al-Samad Khan, in the post. He was descended from the Ansari family of Panipat.[2] He continued and extended his father's policy of severe persecution of Sikhs, and thousands of Sikhs were killed during his period in the post, especially during the Sikh holocaust of 1746.

Zakariya Khan made treaty with Sikhs in 1733 AD

  • Zakariya Khan belonged to the Mughal empire and had become Lahore's ruler from the year 1726.
  • He introduced more harsh policies against the Sikhs and let loose terror on them after becoming the governor. In remote hills and forests, his mobile military columns compelled the Sikhs to seek refuge.
  • Yet the administration continued to harass Sikh people, targeting government caravans and treasuries. The consequence of their predations endure such that Zakariya Khan was obliged to make arrangements with them.
  • He subsequently agreed to lift the quarantine imposed upon the Sikhs in 1733 and made a grant request.
