In desert plants, the stomata is open during night. During night, desert plantsabsorb carbon dioxide and form an intermediate. Then during day time when the stomata is closed to prevent loss of water, they use this stored carbon dioxide toperform photosynthesis.

Desert plants take up Carbon dioxide at night and prepare an intermediate which is acted upon by the energy absorbed by the chlorophyll during the day.
