When do oogenesis and spermatogenesis initiate a human female nd male?

Oogenesis in females is initiated in the foetal or embryonic stage whereas spermatogenesis in males start at puberty. Sperm formation (spermatogenesis) in men continues even upto old age but formation of ovum in women ceases at about the age of 50 years with menopause.

Oogenesis is started in females in very early stages than of males that is in females oogenesis is initiated during the final stages of the foetal development and as in case of males spermatogenesis  is initiated when they are about 14 -16 years old
