#SCIENTIFIC CONCEPTION OF WORK:-

~~~Two conditions need to be satisfied for work to be done:-

1) A force should act on an object and

2) the object must be displaced.

Thus, we define work to be equal to the product of the force and displacement.

Work done= force × displacement or

W= f × s

#ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -

Work done by a force acting on an object is equal to the magnitude of the force multiplied by the distance it has traversed in the direction of the force.

→Work has only magnitude and no direction...and thus, it's a scalar quantity.

~~W= f•s cos

=> W= vector × vector

Now, as we know, product of two vectors is always scalar, thus,

=> W = scalar. (quantity)
