We say that the work has been done when we apply energy that produces a displacement in the object in the direction of force.

Hey there!

We know,

Work = force * displacement

Here,

work ∝ force and work ∝ displacement

So, we can say that work is done when :

a) A force of certain magnitude acts on body

b) the body is displaced from it's initial point due to action of force.

Hope It Helps You!
