work=force * displacement.

so,when force is applied and certain displacement is seen.

for eg** moving a block by applying force it moves further by making certain displacement so this shows work is done by force.

Work is said to be done when force is applied on a body which results in it's displacement . However ,if a force is applied perpendicularly on a body , it may not move .

Therefore , it can be said that a force will not do a work when it is applied perpendicularly and if it is applied along the Direction of displacement , the force results into work.
