When an electric current is passed through water, “Electrolysis of water” occurs, which is the decomposition ofwater (H2O) into hydrogen gas (H2) and oxygen (O2). It depends.if the water contains impurities the there might be some chances of electric current pass, if the water is pure thenelectricity will not pass.
