When electricity is passed through Hydrochloric acid, it forms Hydrogen ion and chlorine ion. Identify the anion and cation.

a) Hydrogen is the anion and chlorine is the cation
b) Hydrogen is the cation and chlorine is the anion
c) Hydrochloric acid do not ionize on passage of electricity.

As, I think Hydrogen has positively charged ion and chlorine has negative charged ions.

Anion : It is the negative charged ion which has higher number of electrons than protons.

Cation : It is the positive charged ion which has higher number of protons then electron.

They have opposite electrical charge so they gets attracted towards each other.
