When a far object is seen clearly ad near object is not visible, it is called Hypermetropia.

A person suffering from Hypermetropia is called a Hypermetropic person. Such a person has to keep a reading material much beyond 25cm from the eye for comfortable reading. This is because the light rays from a closeby object are focused at a point behind the Retina.

This defect can arise due to the following reasons:

1) Focal length of eye lens is too long

2) The eyeball is too small

This defect can be corrected by using a convex(converging) lens of appropriate power.
