According to newton 3 rd law for every action there is equal and opposite reaction. Then a question arises.

When the forces acting on a body has an equal and opposite reaction then, why should the force can't cancel each other?

Reason :-

The newton law of motion is right ✔️ but the reason that why forces doesn't cancel each other is that they act in two different body.

Consider an example :-

When we jump from a boat we exert action on boat in back direction then boat exert a forces in man in front direction both have exerted force of equal magnitude but not cancel each other because the force act on two different bodies one is man and one is boat.

ANSWER :-

Even though the action and reaction are equal and opposite, the object moves because these force act on 2 different bodies. So an individual body experience 1 force only. Thus, these forces don't cancel eachother and the object moves. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
