When father's age and son's age are in ratio 5:3 and the sum of their ages is 55, what are their ages?

step 1- addition of their age ratios=8;real age=55

step 2-if the addition of the ages in ratios is 8 then the age is 55

          if the ratio is 3 then the age is(55*3)/8which is 165/8whch is 20(5/8)

step 3-  age of son is 20(5/8) then fathers age will be 55-20(5/8)=34(3/8)
