1. When limestone is heated, calcium oxide and carbon dioxide are formed.
2. This carbon dioxide gas is passed through freshly prepared lime water, insoluble calcium carbonate and water are formed.
In this reaction, lime water turns milky.
Ca(OH)2 + CO2 ⟶ CaCO3 ↓ H2O
Calcium Carbon Calcium Water
Hydroxide dioxide carbonate
Hope it helps!
