when heat is being supplied,then what does the heat energy do to the particles of solid?

This makes the otherwise, very stationary molecules to start vibrating. As more and more heat is given to a solid object, the molecules faster and more vigorously and if they absorb enough heat, the bonds between molecules becomes less and less, eventually resulting in solids, melting.

They start vibrating and as the heat goes up (according to the substance heat holding capability)the substance start boiling melting etc
