An excellent way to re-produce the view image issue is to search Google Images for "Help" you will see a picture of the Beatles in the results. It's from their song "Help!" and it's a result served up from Youtube. If you select it, the preview says it's 1280x720.
Let's say I would like to download this image. I would normally right click and say "View Image" which would allow me to see the original image and interact with it how I please including downloading. However, now the image is only a link so if I right click it I only get options to open the link. No download options at all.
If I do open the link, it goes to youtube, which doesn't help since I can't download the image from there either. If I try and screen capture the image using the Windows Snipping Tool or Snagit ect. I only get an image that is the size of the preview, which is most certainly not 1280x720.
The search result ends up not even being an image. It's basically just giving me a link in the guise of an image and there really is no point in using Google Image Search since you can't actually get the image. Until this if fixed or a solution is found, I am switching to Bing for image search and I'm directing my IT staff to do the same. We don't need to visit other websites constantly in order to get images when we could just get them from good ol fashion search results.
