the ionisation energy is the energy required to remove the electron from the outermost shell of an atom in its ground state.
As we go from left to right , the size of the atoms goes on reducing and hence it becomes more and more harder to remove these electrons as these electrons are more closer to the nucleus due to small size.
Now the non-metalic character also increases as we go from left to right
