Work done on the system or body by external agent is positive. Eg. Work done by a person to displace a weight vertically upward is positive because work is done on the body.
Work done by the system or body is negative. Eg. Work done by a person to lower a weight vertically downward is negative because work is obtained.
Work done by the system or body is zero if the displacement of body in the direction of force is zero (i.e. θ=90∘θ=90∘ ) or the magnitude of force is zero. Eg. Work done by a person ,having weight on his head, walking on a horizontal plane is always zero because the displacement in the (vertical) direction of force (weight) is zero. extra points plz
