Zero error means when 0th devision of main scale is not coinciding with tha 0th devision of Vernier scale when two jaws of Vernier touching each other. So there will be error due to Zero so that's why it is called as Zero error. There are two types of zero error (i) Positive Zero Error (ii) Negative Zero Error.
