When light from free space bends towards normal, on hitting a surface, then what should be its refractive index (µ ) ? Is it µ >1 µ < 1,µ=1/2.justify your answer.

if µ>1 ,r<i then the refracted ray bends towards the normal. In such a case medium 2 is denser than medium 1 or we can say that when a lights travels from a rarer medium to a denser medium it bends towards the normal.
