Magnesium is more reactive than Copper,

So when magnesium(Mg) is added to copper sulphate solution (CuSO4.5H2O)

Magnesium diisplaces copper from its salt solution and forms Magnesium Sulphate (MgSO4.7H2O) and the solution turns colourless.

Thanks!!!

When magnesium is placed in copper sulfate solution a redox reaction occurs, causing copper metal to form on the magnesium and the deep blue colour of the solution pales.

HOPE IT HELPS
