Remainder Theorem states that the remainder of the division of a polynomial f(x) by a linear polynomial (x−a) is f(a) or in other words (x−a) is divisor of f(x) if and only if f(a)=0

Here a=−1

Remainder is p(−1)

⇒p(−1)=−(−1)+3(−1)² −1=1+3−1= 3

Hence, the remainder is 3

ANSWER-

Remainder Theorem states that the remainder of the division of a polynomial f(x) by a linear polynomial (x−a) is f(a) or in other words (x−a) is divisor of f(x) if and only if f(a)=0

Here a=−1

Remainder is p(−1)

⇒p(−1)=−(−1)+3(−1)

2

−1=1+3−1=3

Hence, the remainder is 3
