When phenol is added to the aniline, it shows the negative deviation.

Let's discuss first what is a negative deviation

If the partial vapor pressure of a solution is lesser than the solution of the same compound. For example phenol and aniline

In a mixture of phenol and aniline, it shows a negative deviation because of the intermolecular bonding between proton of phenol and lone pair present on the nitrogen atom are stronger than corresponding intermolecular hydrogen bonding between the same composition.

sanjeevnar6: Due to the stronger intermolecular forces between phenol and aniline, it decreases the vapor pressure
sanjeevnar6: Leads the negative deviation
