When a plant cell is kept in a hypotonic solution it will swell up due to osmosis.
solvent will move from dilute(solution outside cell) to concentrated(inside cell) which will result in swelling of cell.

A hypotonic solution is one, in which the cell contains more solute concentration (thus less water) than outside the cell (the hypotonic soln. Itself)
Now, since less amount of water is in the plant cell (in comparison), the water as we know, moves from higher to lower concentration (osmosis or more specifically endosmosis) through semi permeable membrane thus the plant cell swells up and also might burst.
In short, the plant cell swells up by endosmosis.
