Decomposers are the organisms which convert the nitrogenous wastes into  nitrogenous compounds when organism die.

Explanation:

  • Decomposers can simply be defined as organisms which feed on dead and decaying material and release nitrogenous compounds from these dead organisms.

  • These nitrogen compounds are hence recycled back into the soil by the decomposers.

  • Plants take up these nitrogenous compounds from the roots along with water and in this manner, the recycling of nitrogenous materials occur.

  • Decomposers are microorganisms.

Answer:

When plants and animals die or when animals excrete wastes, the nitrogen compounds in the organic matter re-enter the soil where they are broken down by microorganisms, known as decomposers. This decomposition produces ammonia, which can then go through the nitrification process.
