When quick line is added to water ,the water becomes very hot. WHY?

Answer:

When quick lime is added to the water then slaked lime will formed and the water becomes very hot

So according to this statement quick lime is (calcium oxide) which is in solid form and slaked lime is( calcium hydroxide)

And when you add quick lime to water then slaked lime will produced and the temperature of water is increases and

it is a exothermic reaction in which heat is produced. the reaction are as follows

CaO (s) + H²0 (l) ~ Ca(OH)²(aq) + heat
