When rain is accompanied by a thunderstorm, the collected rain water will have a pH value slightly lower than that of rain water without thunderstorm
Pure water does not undergo ionisation naturally Due to the action of thunderstorm ,H2O produces hydronium ion.As a result of production of H+ ph lowers slightly as compared to neutral pH.(pH=7)

slightly lower than that of rain water without thunderstorm

Explanation:

During thunderstorm, there is formation of NO which changes to NO2 and ultimately to HNO3 (acidrain)
