When iron nail is placed in copper sulphate solution, iron displaces copper.
So it is a displacement reaction.

Answer: This reaction is considered as a single displacement reaction.

Explanation:

A single displacement reaction is defined as the reaction in which more reactive metal displaces a less reactive metal from its chemical reaction. The reactivity of metals is determined from a series known as reactivity series.

The metals which lie above in the series are more reactive than the metals which lie below in the series.

A+BC\rightarrow AC+B

A is more reactive metal than Metal B.

For the reaction of iron nail with copper sulfate solution, the color starts loosing blue color due to the formation of iron sulfate and copper metal.

The equation follows:

CuSO_4(aq.)+Fe(s)\rightarrow Cu(s)+FeSO_4(aq.)
