when rubber is stretched it changes its shape because the external force applied on it leads in the deformation of its shape. it returns back to its stage because of the maximal tendency of the substance to increase it's entropy.

you are asking which property it explains. it explains the elasticity of the substance.

Now why it returns back to its original shape ?

it is because of the maximal tendency of rubber to increase it's entropy. means here entropic force is in account. and when the substance reach at its maximum entropy .tge entropic force becomes, 0

Answer:

It's a physical and reversible change.

In stretching of rubber band only the size of the rubber band changes. The rubber band come back to his normal position once it's released .

This is the physical and reversible change.
